I shot this one way back in March when my life was in a bit of a rut and I had no idea where I was going, nor what I wanted in more than one aspect of life. Exploring art direction for my personal fashion shoots and my photography jobs for clients kept the creative juices flowing, and even these were not enough to stem the dull, underlying irritation that nagged at me on a day to day basis which should have been more than enough to clue me in on my internal dissatisfaction with the state of my life. Even when one is apparently living the dream, or you’re walking the path you’ve always imagined, the universe has ways of creeping up behind you and letting you know in the most fully unexpected of ways, that as always, you’re never in charge or ever fully in control, so all you can do is hang tight, and attempt to keep your shit together.

It’s a throwback to a hot summer day (although almost every day in Singapore belongs to summer season) when the sweat was making the clothes stick uncomfortably to my skin, and the only things I worried about were how I could stop squinting against the relentless glare of the sun so my already tiny eyes did not reduce to mere slits, and whether or not my bright orange lip color was too overused.
Simpler times indeed.
